Speaking of school, my kids will be back in school in just a few weeks, two back to college and an eighth grader so my posting will be sporadic at best. Thanks as always for coming to PvE and giving the "old college try." It is Monday and I know some students are already back to school. Has school started in your area?
Hi there indeed! Imagine my surprise to find out there is also a J. McLaughlin in Richmond. I might have to run down there and check it out.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we are both up early today! Have a great Monday!
John,
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday. Early bird does get the worm. It is a good time for me to work as my students are home and tend to sleep late. I know that it is only a few more days and then they will be up and off to class.

Happy Monday everyone! No school hasn't started here yet but I think it starts next week in New England. Seems like the days started getting shorter a few weeks ago but I love fall!

Happy Monday! Katelyn starts in a week....move in is Friday! I think the reality of it all is hitting us like a ton of bricks...hard to let them spread their wings and fly! I hope your kiddos have a great year!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you went to school in Cincinnati! That's where my home is and where we just moved from..... small world. Love all things "old school". School doesn't start here in Switzerland for a couple more weeks.
ReplyDeleteNot yet, thank goodness - the summer has flown by! Hope your summer days are filled with fun.

This is beautiful...and it does have that collegiate feel. you must be so happy to have a full house for a bit longer...with two leaving at once it must seem very quiet when they are away at school.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Yes, if you can believe it, school here in FL started LAST week! Crazy. Thanks for your sweet comment and enjoy the last 2 weeks with your great kids! xo
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the remaining days while everyone is home. Some of my friends that have children attending school, start this week. Only a couple more weeks of summer to hold onto. Embrace my friend! xo
ReplyDeletePatricia I love your painting and the building It does have that "old School" look.

Hi Patricia,
ReplyDeleteThat may be the most charming J McLaughlin illustration yet! I just finished the last page of a book called, The Gilded Age, which is set in current day Cleveland, OH!
I'm trying hard to keep my 2 guys entertained with a limited schedule of activities. I'm actually quite looking forward to school starting. At least I'll have a little more time on my hands!!
xoxo Elizabeth
When, oh when, are they coming to So. California? Beautiful water color. Mary
ReplyDeleteThis was one of my favorite images, too. Oh, the excitement ahead. I love your storytelling
