go green

Think of this post as a eco-friendly reminder to go green.
Do you know the daily green list, click to check out the list.

Yesterday, I was working in an
office with a client and the topic of recycling came up and a search for garbage island as well as other questions were raised about where waste goes.

Nope, it was not pretty, but we all need to do our part to go green.
Artists are raising our awareness.   Sculpture is changing the way we look at trash.
We all need to do our part for future generations.
This fantastic wallpaper in an office would be a great reminder to go green.
Mother Earth needs each of us to think green.
One of the printers in the office was acting up and it made me think, perhaps the printer was trying to tell the world to reduce.  Do you really need to print everything?  Think of all the trees we could save.
Maybe one day we will have an alternative for paper?
It makes me happy to know that we recycle because as a child, I only remember one trash bin.  Now we recycle but have you noticed that some trash bins are the size of a car?
When was the last time you thought about going green? Are you doing your part to go green.

Do you carry your own bags to the store to help reduce paper and plastic consumption?
There are many eco friendly products on the market that will change the way we live and how we travel.  Given the current price of gas, we need some alternative solutions.
Eco friendly flooring and shoes crafted of recycled materials designed for the consumer who is searching for a sustainable solution and lifestyle.
Lisa at Kenmore Arms has a green thumb and green wellies to welcome you to her home.
Are you green?
What sorts of steps are you taking to do your part?

  1. What an appropriate post!
We are aware, maybe not always, but we try: We re -use, we recycle, we reduce. I always go shopping with my own bags, we try to by items with a carbon aware foot print. Local, organic. I hardly ever print things these days.
I even read more on my Nook! I buy used books online.
One of my favorites is to shop vintage. No need to produce another plastic bowl when there is so much beautiful china and ceramic out there.
Same goes for clothes, we still have exchange among the teens, there is such wealth. We reuse a lot!
Shopping less for everything. How many dresses can I wear? Last years things are still great this summer....
Here is so go green and stay there!

  5. We always turn off lights as much as we can. We compost, we definitely recycle, repair, repurpose as much as we can. For the most part, we don't shop frivolously. We are also going to put solar panels on our roof. We meal plan so we try and buy only what we need.

We line dry in the warm weather too. And bring our own bags for shopping. I don't drive a lot during the week and we try and only use on car on the weekend and combine errands. I know there is so much more we can to be more eco conscious!

  6. We always use our reusable bags at the store, and our community has single-stream recycling (yay!) so it's really easy for us to recycle which is so important. Make it easier for people! We were at my BIL's over the weekend, and he kept looking at all of the numbers because their community only recycles certain numbers, but we don't really have to worry about that which is so great.

  8. While traveling in Europe, I've noticed that many grocery stores charge for plastic bags. Most of the residents instead bring their own bags. When you have to start paying for them, you realize just how many you use.
