Packing it all up to take one son off to college for his freshman year. Seriously folks, I do not remember taking so much stuff. Today, there are cell phones, lap tops, mini fridges, and all the creature comforts to keep one in the loop. Nope, I was not born in the dark ages, but it will be a busy two weeks before I see the light. Did I mention, we are still kitchenless and the renovation is progressing. Excuse my absence but I shall be back in September.

Having just picked up my boys from camp, I can't even imagine what they'll need five years from now for college! Have a great and safe trip!

Carolyn,
I shudder to think of how many new and improved items will be out....but a bouquet of flowers from your fine establishment -now that is everlasting....

Patricia - it's crazy what they take to college - I most definitely didn't have so much!! My eldest just called me from law school where he is setting up his apartment - his questions were hysterical!! I know you would have appreciated. Hang in there!!
I'll be thinking of you!
WOW, lots on your plate! Good Luck with it all, and thanks for those fashion pearls!
Patricia, there is a lot on your plate so remember to breath and exhale slowly. There is a wonderful treasure at the end. Your home will be finished and (more) beautiful with all the updates AND a wonderful studio.
Your son's off to start their new journeys is a bittersweet moment, but this is the time for them to show what they have learned from to awesome parents. Embrace the tears. If I lived close by I would be scheduling a lunch date for some girlfriend time. So, will a cyber hug do instead?! XOXO...
Enjoy your time together. We are doing the same thing this week, but it's not as bittersweet. He's a sophomore, and I think it will be an easier transition.
Do pop over and visit me at my blog sometime soon...
ciao
Definitely time for a break...enjoy!!
Oh Patricia on to a new stage of life!! Have a great trip and try not to cry toooo much!

You and me both thinking alike today with the much needed blog break. Big Hugs to son #1 on the way. Best of luck to you!
Have fun! Make sure your son doesn't run off with the kitchen sink:)
Hope it all goes well! I have this to look forward to in 2 years!
Have a safe trip and enjoy your break : ) x Kelly
Have fun and bring rolls of quarters. My dad gave them out on my move-in day to bribe other freshmen into helping him unload the car.
Enjoy the journey! I'll be thinking about you. Can't wait to see some of your renovations too!
Oh, good luck with it all!!! I remember going off to college, with my mini fridge and big suitcase. There's more to it these days.
Have a good time Patricia!
Aw.... hope it all goes brilliantly.
hope the move is going well and that the kitchen is ready very soon!
Huge milestone. Good luck and enjoy every minute.
I was just thinking today of my first day moving into the dorms, of opening all the windows, and of how fantastic I felt that day!
Enjoy the milestone and celebrate the next part of y'alls lives. Looking forward to your return!
A new chapter is opening up for all of you...the old one doesn't close either...the story just expands!
Happy settling...

Love the photo... My son could be going to college but did a 5th year at a boarding school in NH... same age anyway... how are you coping? My daughter cried when she went to college... which ripped my heart apart.... My son on the other hand will be ready to go, and I will be ready for him to go too. I love him dearly, but this crazy schedule I can't deal with for more than 3 months. Time's up!
Good luck with the drop off... no emotional hugs!
Jan
What a milestone! Hope everything goes well and he has a great freshmen year. xo
You leave the best comments ever! Seriously, Patricia, your comments, every single one, have a twist or some well thought out bit... I always love reading your comments on other blogs - you are a talent in every sense of the word! An artist to your core.
Thanks for all your comments since I started this whole blogging thing.. I have been feeling guilty about not having as much time to visit/comment, but lord knows this winter, when it's grey and zero, I'll catch up on any and all I've missed! Blogging shouldn't be a chore or a source for guilt... we all understand when there are other things going on in our lives that need attention! Best of luck to you during the final (they are final, right) stages of your home project.. you are worth waiting for! I'll be a loyal follower forever!

I tear up (ALREADY) when I think about Remi going to college:) Good luck!
You will my friend! Surely the boys will too!
It's such a big change!
Say hello from us and good luck with the move!
You certainly will need a drink afterwards!!!

The best of luck to you!!!!
