How do you start your day?
While in Chicago, when we would go back to our hotel, we would put up our tired feet and read for a spell. Funny, we were both reading memoirs of lives with jagged starts.
Sometimes we read out loud when we came across parts to share with one another.
I finished reading the memoir, "Townie." Even though parts were intense or as our Mother says, "violent" I still felt a grateful heart in the midst of defeat.
My sister read "The Cracker Queen" and we kept trying to remember the four things the author wrote to live by;
Love
Forgiveness
Gratefulness
Purpose
Do you ever stop to think how different your day might be with a grateful start?

Three cheers for gratitude.

Yes, yes, yes. I start every day with a grateful heart. I get up early, before the sun, so I can start the day by being grateful for the sunrise. How can you not be happy when you are grateful! A-M xx
PVE thanks for the reminder ....so much to be grateful for and sometimes it's lost. Have a wonderful day!
No matter where we are or what we are going through, there is always something to be grateful for.... we are all blessed, we just need to look past things to see those blessings.
Thank you so much for the two book titles. Kenny is sleeping more, so I have been able to read a bit more. Those are now on my list!
a great morning reminder!
Patricia something to remember every morning! I am grateful to have you as a friend from the start!

I literally was just reading about this topic a few minutes ago in a book called "Life is for Living" by Eric Butterworth!!!
Such lovely thoughts, Patricia. I've been thinking a lot about gratitude lately, and trying to work moments to reflect on it into multiple points of my day every day. Gretchen Rubin, who wrote The Happiness Project had a great post on the topic on her blog last week.
I'm grateful to have inspiring people like you in my life! Thanks for the reminder.
I'm grateful every morning for my first cup of coffee...once that kicks in, I'm extremely grateful for everything else! ;)

words to live by. xo
PVE,
Love...your mind, body, and soul right where you are today.
Forgiveness...towards yourself and others "quickly"!
Gratefulness...say your list outloud because your ears believe what your words say.
Purpose...know that you are enough and perfect at every moment in your life moving forward...feel that!
These are the gifts of life along with blogging friends, physical friends, family, strangers and yourself it's universal.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
Bette
