orientation

For the next few days, I will be joining my son at his orientation here.
I imagine there will be lots of walking and touring and many questions.
The one question I ask myself is "how did the years go so fast?"
Any parents advice for a Mother of twins about to leave for college?
The orientation is all apart of preparing us both for a new year ahead.
Be back next week.

It can't be time for orientations already?? Can it? The thing that seemed to be stressed over and over during my daughter's college orientation was that it was now time for parents to "let go." Easier said than done.
Best,
Susan

If you ever want to grab a Diet Coke while you're up here, I'd love to meet up one of these days. I'm in Troy- I actually advise one of the sororities.

May your mommy heart be full of more joy than sadness and pride on how well your boys have done.

Oh so exciting. Are you actually dropping him off? Or just getting a preview? Great school. Congratulations.

How well I know. With the blink of an eye seems they go from being a tiny little mini me hanging on to us to a full fledged young adult who is college bound, definitely bittersweet! Good luck, try to enjoy the process..there is something incredibly exciting about being 18, with your life ahead of you and standing in front of unchartered waters...seeing what they will do and where they will go!

It's that time of year. This is my son's last year of college {I hope} We just got him settled in his apartment this past weekend.

Patricia,
I remember going off to my own orientation, which was a lot of years ago...and yet it feels like yesterday. I guess just enjoy the moments....you've done a wonderful job raising your young men and they are about to fly. They are ready.

How exciting, but bittersweet. "Where does the time go?" is something I've been asking myself a lot lately. I agree with Elizabeth, enjoy the moments. It's tough to let go, but so thrilling to see where your boys are headed, what's next for them.
Good luck to you and to them!

so different than when I went for orientation. Then - our parents just dropped us off and we were on our own for orientation which was actually scary! I would have loved to have my parents around for that.

PVE,

Just keep the communication lines open and live in the moments that flourish before you. Laughter, tears, and blessings are allowed...of course.

Oh, this post has me nearly hyperventilating...not ready, not ready at all and wonder if I will be in 8 years. Unlikely. Janell
