pick me

All sorts of blossoms are calling me to pick them. I want to lock myself away with lush arrangements and paint large canvases with big blossoms. Something about the blues and lilac hues that are so serene as well as in fashion. What has been calling you to be picked?

  1. My lilacs are in bloom so I have been bringing them into the house daily. My hyrdrangeas look like they are starting to bloom but they seem to be taking forever this year. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo

  2. Oh my!! I am heading to Boston for a seminar regarding Kenny's disease. A day to meet others going through the same thing I am. I quickly checked my favorite blogs and your photos are sending me off with such a great vision. We are a bit behind you, so our lilacs and hydrangea have not come into bloom yet.
    Thank you for the loveliness.

  3. When the lilacs were in bloom I had wonderful large branches on the table. Ahhh... love the scent of them. Now I have peonies on the table. I would love to see an illustration of your garden. xo

  4. My Miss Lilac bush decided to be shy this season, and not bloom. She has alot of green leaves but no flowers. Maybe she wants a break this year. It does take alot of energy for a plant to bloom flowers. Maybe she's like me this season.

  5. Those hydrangeas are beautiful. I am firm believer that flowers like to be picked and shared.

  10. Hydrangeas are so pretty. I love the blue and purple colored ones. I live in a city, so although I can see lots of flowers, they're in people's yards so I can't pick them!

  11. I'm in day lily heaven here. My back yard is full of every color of day lily they make the most spectacular border around our pool. All of those orange and yellow blossoms just pop against the blue water. I've also been photographing some hydrangeas for an upcoming still life. Love this time of year.

  13. Those lilacs are so beautiful I can smell them! I have jasmine growing by my front door and it makes me happy every time I go in and out. Hope you have a lovely weekend Patricia! Can't wait to see what arrangement paintings result from your flowers!

  14. I'm trying to talk Mr. 24 into surrounding at least the front of our house with hydrangea's. We have a shingle home and I think they would be lovely. As it stands, we have one white one that isn't blooming yet, but our irises just started to and they're who we're 'picking' at the moment...so pretty!
Wishening you a lovely and relaxing weekend...

  15. Gogeous hydrangeas! Ours are so shy this year... Still little green buds. The peonies are dancing in my yard in their ruffled skirts and the roses finally popped. I'll be taking time to smell them for sure! Hope your weekend is in full sweet bloom!
