Inevitably, I seem to create and capture artwork for certain circles and there always seems to be a "six degrees" of seperation. Many clients tell me that there is something about my work that takes them back to a place or conjures up a nostalgic memory. Like the illustration above, the circle window made me think how we work in circles. A childhood friend or home can suddenly come full circle bringing you back right where you started. An object or utensil can also come full circle in your home.
Do you have any items that have come
full circle in your home? Love this full circle home site with tons of great cleaning items.
I think you will too.
The circular object I have in my home which I happen to be eating from right now is my oatmeal bowl. It's white and round, and reminds me of my oatmeal bowl when I was a kid growing up. I guess some things never change. I'm an ole' fashion kind of gal! :)
ReplyDeleteKathleen,
ReplyDeleteFunny how items do bring us full circle back to our childhood memories. Oatmeal sounds lovely...on this Saturday morning.
Happy and healthy day to you.

Dear Patricia,
ReplyDeleteThe timing of this is ironic. I am getting ready to dedicate a post to a loved one who is getting ready to move her family for the first time.
I would adore it if you would allow me the privilege of using this wonderful, wonderful painting of yours tell the story!
Always,
Lisa
Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI am of course flattered to receive your kind comment.
Of course, you may use this work of art to tell your story, and the privilege is all mine to be part of your post.

PVE,
ReplyDeleteThis post shows us how powerful our memory is. Details are filed in order like hanging folders in a filing cabinet.
We're real good at the details once we've triggered our five senses. I think it's amazing.

Patricia,
ReplyDeleteThank you again for doing a beautiful painting of our home. I love looking at it and will be thankful to have it even more since we are putting our house on the market and most likely moving in a few months.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Caroline,
Good luck with the move and getting settled.

Pam,
It all depends, what kind of donut are we talking about! Make mine an old-fashioned one...

Since I emptied my mother's house almost four years ago now, I have many things that have come full circle from my childhood. Some were for sentimental reasons and some because styles do come full circle.
ReplyDeleteOne of our best examples has to be a Christmas ornament I made for my parents, that hangs on our tree now. (Well, not at this moment, the tree is gone, but you know what I mean.)
ReplyDeleteGreat post on a wonderful topic Miss PVE! I love the painting.

Very pretty painting Patricia...I like cirles and squares together...two shapes that share 4 points....thank you so much for the kind comment and of course the very special holiday card...you look like a fun mom :)
ReplyDeleteComing to NYC in May...I'll keep in touch.

Michelle

ReplyDeletePatricia- Beautiful illustration of the home!
ReplyDeleteFull circle is a huge ceramic bowl we received for a wedding gift. It was thrown by hand and you can watch the maker's fingers form a spiral from the center as he threw it. Such pleasant memories to use it!

I love this illustration since it is my friend's house! Hope you are having a good winter!
