There is nothing better than that of having hand-made gifts at the ready. These lovely hand-made pots were made by Catherine White for First Lady Obama to give as gifts. The canisters are to hold loose chamomile tea. The gifts are symbolic of the White House garden.
Can you imagine the thrill of making each one by hand for such an honorable order. As an artist, I grapple with giving and truly feel that a hand-made gift is such a special treat. These pots are awesome! Last year I gave out a photo calendars (remember?). I am wondering if I should again this year or make some edible. I do like giving homemade gifts to groups of friends.

Those are beautiful gifts! I generally make gifts each year. I always make an annual ornament for family and friends, last year I got my little guy involved and he started making his own ornaments for family. I give an original painting to family.

ReplyDeleteI bake alot during the month of December, and give to family and friends. And I always have a wrapped dish of cookies should someone come to call during the holiday season. I also like to give candles. There's something so spiritual to me about lit candles. It speaks to my soul.
Those are lovely! I have a similar tea brewing cup with a strainer at the top, and I use it almost daily. Absolutely! I give out mostly handmade gifts for holidays, Birthdays, housewarming, etc. - either the jewelry I make, or something else that is handmade. Most of my gifts come from Etsy (of course)! :)

What wonderful gifts! This year I thought of putting together jars of biscuit or cake mix - lots of lovely layers in a glass jars (an idea pinched from lots of lovely blogs). Also making some egg cosies, as they look bright and cheerful nestled in a hamper.

Just goes to show how Michelle Obama seeks out the best in all categories, not just high level fashion - she really has such great style! I give some baked goods at the holidays but am always on the lookout for great artisanal gifts.

I come from a long line of crafters and I LOVE making things for people. This year for Christmas, I am making ornaments for all of the teachers, coaches and people who help guide our children. I will share photos soon :) I truly believe gifts from the heart and hands are wonderful!
