Have you heard about the "Tweed Ride?" I find it fascinating that people of all ages will ride donning their tweediest fashions. I can imagine wearing a tweed jacket or vest and some sort of pant with a bit of lycra and perhaps even a tweed bike helmet! I love herringbones and houndstooths and tweeds for Fall.
Good morning, PVE, ...a subtle but complimentary stripe shirt, turtleneck sweater, a great scarf, boots and a hat-- you can dress that coat up or down. It's a houndstooth??? Have a fashionable Monday, BarbaraG (saw your pic on The Vamp's blog, gotta get the magazine)
Janell - I can just see you sitting pretty on a bike that you have perhaps painted with "chalkboard paint" and sporting some fabulous tweeds! pve
Barbara, Yes, that coat is a houndstooth...I found a houndstooth sheath dress for fall! I love fall tweeds, donegal, harris, and all the rest. Thanks for popping over to the vamp - she is an amazing lady - it was great to meet so many other wonderful bloggers and guests of Eddie & Jaithans. happy monday - pve
2 hippos, Would you have a little hand whipped edge...in a pop of color? I can see you sporting something quilted... pve
That sounds like such a fun event. I have a few great options but would need a bike to participate. I would want an old school teal Vespa to play off my tomato red tweed skirt, a chocolate cord jacket with elbow patches and would need to hunt for a perfect scarf to fly off in the wind. I'd want a Snoopy vs. the Red Baron type of hat and goggles. Hee hee! Love brainstorming on your blog!
Sounds like the tweed version of Breaking Away. I just LOVE tweed, herringbone, houndstooth and all versions of classic fall fashion. Hopefully it would be cool enough to wear a turtleneck, jacket and either cords or jeans. What a great event.
Since this is all fantasy, I would find on auction something that jackie O wore while riding!!! hehe. then buy it. but of course, it wouldn't fit me at all, but that's part of the fantasy, no?
Oh yes- turtlenecks and thick loopy wool jackets, tall boots and cashmere scarves. This is my favorite season for dressing. Let's dress and go to lunch~
How great is that! The poster is so witty! I would wear a mid-thigh autumn colored jacket with a long plain skirt and a ruffled slip under it with a great pair of boots, and don't forget the scarf!!!
That coat if it were mine! Sounds like a fun time...Janell

The jacket you illustrated or the one you have pictured- very nice. Especially like the bit of fringe edging.
