I find myself in rather fine august company. The red juicy ripe heirloom tomatos beckon to be savoured and sliced for a tomato salad.Tomatos sliced on a plate are a venerable summer time staple around here.
Do you eat a tomato like a fruit or a vegetable?
A sweet ear of corn on the cob is another fine specimen of august company.
What is keeping you company during this month of August?
Fresh tomato's and corn are such a treat.

I've never seen vegetables look so grand Patricia. Would you believe I don't like fresh tomatoes..crazy I know! Seeing your painting of the ear of corn though reminds me of home. There were large fields of corn planted each spring and harvested each late summer. Seeing the combines were always a mark that summer was coming to an end. Wishing you a lovely summers Sunday Patricia x

Tomatoes are a summer staple here as well, only this year the squirrels are beating me to them. We enjoy tomatoes in gazpacho, on sandwiches, and with basil and mozzarella. The squirrels, they prefer them green.
