I find the illustration rather sweet and laidback. Well done
I don't have much use for shorts outside of the home. Besides, I've no fondness for heat; straw hats and white suits hold more appeal as summer staples
I do admire Junya Watanabe's facility for appealing shorts-based looks in his menswear shows, however. I'm always nearly converted
Elizabeth- love that you wear dresses or skirts - you are showing your daughter how to be a "lady" - like the Queen wearing skirts and suits while in NY! pve
I own two pairs of longer shorts-but mainly it's skirts-just above the knee-not too short, tees and white shirts. Pretty standard uniform for me. I did get a great shirtdress recently that I love!
When I shop for something summery I seem to avoid shorts. With that in mind - and also an image of my Aunty Kath sporting short white shorts well into maturity - maybe it's time to be brave and give them a go this year.
Laura, ha ha ha, dorky, you, I cannot imagine! I am sitting in a skirt - they always feel one part comfortable and other part lady-like. yep, I am reaching the age where I wish I could wear short shorts and look like Tina Turner. "What's love got to do with it?" pve
If I had good legs I'd wear shorts ALL summer long...love how they look. However...you'll find me in slacks and jeans, and occasionally capris...those "shorts" days are over for me.
I love capri's in different colors with about 9% spandex added to fabric content. Durable, flexible, on the go and always feeling great in them. Goal is function and confort in clothes.
Long, white and tight denim jeans (to just above the knees). How do I think I am?!! (: And then some bohemian tops, long necklaces, silver sandals and funky glasses and even I get some attention! Haha! I love being playful summer time.
The tulips popping out of the bag are the perfect touch. Yes, I wear shorts to stay cool. How about you?

2 hippos,

you need a quilt-pattern belt!

I have one pair - J.Crew - that seem to fit well. Other than that....I'm in sundresses.
ReplyDeleteI just got some new longer shorts Bermuda style. Guess I'm showing my age but I like them.
ReplyDeleteI'm more of skirt, skort, sundress kinda gal girl.

Love your pun. Shorts, technically yes but they have gotten longer over the years. AND those were harder to find this year!
ReplyDeleteAll shorts banned here by order of the Vein of Varicose - life's too short to worry about it!

I prefer skirts, they feel freer to me, but if I'm wearing shorts they're low waisted and have been cut off from a pair of funky pants.
ReplyDeleteNot much of a short person unless they're longer, flattering Bermudas. Skirts and dresses are my summer style!

ReplyDeleteFor summer I love capris, skirts and long flowing dresses!

No shorts for me; no shortage of skirts or capris, however.

I like Bermuda shorts, capris and sun dresses. In this high heat, it's also sandals and very little jewelry. Also, an ice tea in my hand! :)

I love wearing shorts during summer, although my legs are blindingly white. I like pleated shorts that are kind of puffy.
ReplyDeleteI am more of a dress girl.
