I couldn't agree more. My DH wore a khaki suit and one of his Grandfather's bow ties at our beautiful seaside wedding. He never wears them now- but has a small collection. I'm going to a lovely bridal shower later today- maybe I'll wear one of them!!! Happy Sunday Patricia.
Debra- I made white pique bow-ties for our sons first communion. Makes me think I need to get on the Father's Day present parade and make some out of some vintage scarves.... pve
My husband wears them frequently. There is something so elegant and urbane about a bow tie. My father wears them a lot too.... Maybe it's the New England preppie in both of them.
I learned to tie the perfect bow tie when working at a restaurant that required even the girls to wear them... now, I'm the go-to person in the house when the boys (young and old) need one tied!
I should hug your neck! I completely agree with you and was pleasantly surprised when my son chose to wear a bow tie to his band concert just recently. Let's hope he continues.
Ah, yes. I love a man in a bow tie. There is something special about a guy who will break away from the crowd from time to time and who isn't afraid to express himself.
Wish I could get Michael to wear bow ties. His Dad wears them always. Honestly, everything is so casual now we don't dress up that much anymore. Even to Mass, sportscoat & slacks. Is that nuts? It's too hot here in the summer for ties of any sort but I love the bow tie. Love it.
