I love snappy dressers that display personal style with flair. It looks easy enough to simply add a mirror, some fresh cut flowers, or a potted orchid, some frames, a shell or a rock, a clock, a lamp or two and voila, all of the sudden, they look so utterly feminine. (Images above and below are for pure inspiration and caught my attention to snap my dresser into shape!)
Such a good reminder, lately mine has been looking more like a newsstand! I need to take some time and whip it back into shape.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how we can just add a little something here and there and before we know it... clutter!
ReplyDeleteSo yes! I need to get my dresser back in shape too! Thank-you!
These are lovely. My problem is of course the dresser clutter like everyone else. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteAcanthus and Acorn,
ReplyDeleteSometimes, I use a basket to de-cluter, clearing a surface and editing each season. It does a world of good to really adress the confusion, clutter can quickly cause.

Deb-
yep - I can see your glass collection, heart rocks and more taking on a life of their own. Show us your snappy dresser.

Kwana,
It is so easy to fall prey to clutter, but when we learn a few tricks to just stash it in spot, it becomes less chaotic than seeing it. (I am guilty of dresser clutter, but you know I live with the warden of clutter!)

I love the first one, gorgeous roses!
ReplyDeleteOften I find with my own home or with a clients, that if you have a "snappy dresser" you are less likely to toss folded laundry, magazines, books, glass of water, etc, due to not wanting to break the plant, knock over the lamp, etc...it helps with keeping clutter at bay. I like the second photo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever title for this post! Loved how "unstaged" the first vignette appears. On closer inspection realized the lucky person owns an illustration by Konstantin Kakanias from Mrs. Tependris. Is this a photo of your dresser? Susan Adler Sobol
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeletethanks, no that is not my dresser, but loved the look and thanks for bringing my attention to the artwork.
I loved the sophisticated whimsy of it.

Well no dresser per se. Perfumes and momentos on a shelf. Maybe your Warden of Clutter needs to read the blog Unclutterer.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.

I was inspired several years ago after staying at a resort to make my bedroom clean and simple. Thanks for sharing your dresser with me. A little change can make a big difference. Carla
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images. I love the two little lamps on the first, with glass or acrylic bases, so charming.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same but am hopelessly piling stuff there; it is such a chore to be messy.
ReplyDeleteI love the bedroom! As soon as the dust settles in the masterbath I will tackle the dust on our dressers. Smile....
ReplyDeleteLove your snappy dresser! Mine needs a makeover.
ReplyDeleteMine needs to be cleared of toy cars, old homework pages, and princess books...sigh...
ReplyDeleteI've got a dresser that could use a bit of snappiness!
ReplyDeleteMine never quite makes it. I think flowers might do the trick, but that is a commitment!
ReplyDeleteBoxes, lots of little boxes. With the weather turning, I feel a cleaning coming on. Thanks for the inspiration.
Between lotions, potios, salves and anything else I need out so I don't forget about it it can get kind of a wreck. So pretty these images. Inspire to return to organization! Hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteJust left Louisville today. Stayed at 21C. Really cool place.
That is a lovely tablescape. I love the artwork propped up against the mirror, such a great layered look!!
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful photo
ReplyDeleteI need to snap my dresser into shape too! Be sure to let us know how yours turns out. :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally need to liven up my dresser with some fresh blooms! Beautiful room!
