I like to think of each house illustration that I am commissioned to do as a "house guest!"
pve design house illustration commission 2010
I imagine how happy a house guest would be to arrive and find a sweet little four legged friend to greet them. Can you see the little darling dog in the grass? The art was framed and delivered a few weeks ago, ready to give to the man of the house and to hang for all house guests to admire!
I love the porch swing. We had one growing up and a poodle, named Penny. I adore porch swings so inviting and a great way to spend an afternoon with a good book and tall glass of ice tea. Beautiful my friend! xo
ReplyDeleteVery cute, I love the little white dog in the front ready to greet you!

It's beautiful, so inviting!
ReplyDeleteJoyce-
ReplyDeleteYes, thanks for pointing that out, a front porch or a back porch in the South is the norm! My Mom & Dad have both - in my old Kentucky Home!
Ice tea or Bourbon are enjoyed there!
Thanks as always for your kind and supportive comments~

Sarah-
Yes, can you imagine coming home to that sweet little thing, all wags and licks!

Chandelier no.4 - (Joanna)
I am all about "personal" touch in a non-personal world. I must put that into my work, akin to an actor who must play the role, get to know the subject before they can truly play the role.

Karena,
I wish I could have seen the home owners faces when the artwork arrived. That is something I need to figure out how to capture!

Purple Flowers-
Now can you imagine that sweet porch in the Summer, and all the flowers...the house actually goes back far and deep..but I loved just showing the front. Sort of a tease, to a house guest, right!
Thanks as always for your kind comments.
How is your friend Deb's Dad doing? I have been thinking about him. Sending strength.

Your sweet illustration make me wish we could see the inside of this perfect home. I may have to add this one to my collection of cozy abodes. Whenever I see one of your home illustrations, I always want to enter, sit and take in the surroundings.
ReplyDeleteOf course I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little house and pooch.
ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteThank-you! I too feel the same sentiments, I want to go inside and get to know the house and the owners and what makes the houses I draw "home sweet homes!" I think growing up in a home gave me much fodder for my work. Always something good in the stove, a smile, a wag of a tail and action!

Kwana,
I need to add Jack on your front stoop to you abode. He was not even a twinkle when you moved to your home. Look at him now, a home, a loving family and the star of a blog. Perhaps he will show up in your book and steal the show.

Ooh! So nicely done, and such a treasure.
ReplyDeletelove the little dog in the front, it makes it so much more personal looking
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteand right back at you, your work is awe inspiring.
