So shines a good deed in a naughty world."

Each and every day, I am so enamored by the kindness of individuals that I have not yet met.
I feel a total brightness of light radiating from the notes and the wonderful connection to so many.
A dear friend told me that when you have another child, it is like lighting a candle, the flame gets brighter. Friends are like that too. Just last night a friend called to tell me how much she enjoys a small bowl that I had painted for her. I had to think for a moment as the memory of that bowl was just a faint flicker.
I have been busy making and giving soups and dinners for a friend who has cancer. Just yesterday, she called to tell me she had a "Clean" MRI.
All the giving in return for such good news of hope.
Care to share any good deeds that you have done in this naughty world?
Feel free to leave a comment or post on your own blog!
Let's all throw on our high beams and shine a good deed.
I love this post, Patricia. I think of good deeds as grace in motion. I also like the idea of annonymous good deeds. Sometimes a warm smile & a kind, encouraging word is the most powerful good deed of all. XOXO
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and the beautiful way you write and how it shows who you are inside.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I called a department store to report superior service by one great lady. In a time of hustle and bustle-good customer service lacks. She deserved a gold star and I hope she gets one or more! Glad that your friend is doing better. Must be the wonderful homemade soup. That is such a thoughtful gift and one I love to give as well.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you have good news for your friend. My friend lost her courageous battle to cancer just about a month ago. I called and visited her often and she seemed to appreciate my efforts.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you.
Great news! Art+soul+talent=pve.
ReplyDeleteYou have a gorgeous way of capturing life's sentiments. I have been trying to keep my friend who is dealing with cancer steadily supplied with food as well. It's the least I can do.
ReplyDeleteyou are sweet! And thank you for the bloggertroduction! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Patricia.

My next door neighbors went away just before the blizzard hit our area, but called to see if my 17 year old son could shovel their driveway. Of course! Little did I know this storm would be so terrible. But the promise had been made. As he shoveled, other neighbors came over to help. In addition, because of the commitment, we had not finished our own long driveway. I worked to clear snow at our house and thought I would just go it alone and get a path to the garage...or so I thought. When they were done, my son and 2 other neighbors came over to help me! My husband is out of the country and my daughter was sick. I was so touched by this kind and generous act, especially after everyone had literally been at it for most of the day.
ReplyDeleteI have tears in my eyes for your good friend and her clean MRI results- she must just be beaming with happiness right now.
ReplyDeleteYou truly are a huge ray of light of positive, happy, giving, and thoughtfulness in the blog world!
It is so true; the ripple effect of a good deed and kind word. I'm so happy for your friend. We rarely get good news when it comes to cancer, so this is a blessing.
ReplyDeleteYour kind deed of art arrived at my house yesterday! Thank you so much. I'll be a busy woman this weekend working on the wall hangings for the girls. I'll be sure to send a couple back to you.
Happy weekend to you, pve!
Another beautiful post PVE! I have a niece in college in PA and just found out last week that she's having some difficulties in securing/approving funding for a place to live next year and was possibly going to have to take a semester off. We jumped in to offer help and are anxiously awaiting word on the situation.
ReplyDeleteIt is energizing to help others, be it small or big, it feels good!
Happy V-Day weekend to you.
I think we should all vow to to do good deeds everyday. The state of the economy has everyone ragged and weathered and kindness goes a long way. Great post!
ReplyDeleteWow, I am impressed by all the good deeds and the kindness of your comments.
ReplyDeleteWhat we give comes back two-fold.

This week I drove a friend of mine who has cancer to the Doctor for a procedure. Same day, I drove her sister to an eye app't. I always try and do good deeds. My parents taught me that a long time ago. The feelings go a long way.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
This is beautiful and inspiring and moving all at once. To have that skill with art as well as the written word is truly to be double blessed. I believe in paying it forward but sometimes we all get wrapped up in what is happening in our own lives. This is a great reminder.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful post and reminds us all to do more of the little things that make a big difference. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for stopping by my blog :)
As Warren Haynes used to say, "Let your soulshine, it's better than sunshine..." Have a loved-filled weekend!
