Well in truth, I have never been much of a Halloween person. But since I've been reading The Girl with No Shadow recently - and since I have a two-year-old who looks particularly fetching in costumes - I am freshly inspired this year!
I have always found Halloween to be so much fun, ever since childhood. There are cinderella pumpkins in my flower beds, stuffed owls on my grand piano. Every year as well, my husband creates a delightfully spooky tableau under the branches of our giant magnolia tree. He's become rather famous for it. One year it was the wolfman, one year frankenstein. All the kids in the neighborhood flock to see what he comes up with. And Edward will be helping me hand out cupcakes to the adults, and treats for the kids. We do have fun on Halloween!
teehee, I love that picture! I've always adored dressing up, and think just because you become an "adult" (whatever that means...) doesn't mean you should eschew your dress up box. Don' you? Thanks so much for the lovely comment over at Urban Flea!

Since I am not a native it has been always a bit artificial to get in the Halloween mood, but my children fill in there for me. I do not much decorating for the occasion, but my little son has free reign and set up a spooky cemetry on our front lawn... I certainly love to hand out candies to all the little monsters and witches!
i know i know... i will get alot of tough love on this but i am just not a halloween person... i just wanted to stop by and say hello... hope you are well xx pam
Love Halloween but save the decorations for inside. When we lived in Utah the damn kids in the neighborhood alway stole your decorations and put them in someone else yard or smashed them. Now Xmas is another story.
To the Halloween witches and nay sayers- Wow - never knew so many of you were holding out on the decorations until Christmas. Well, what about a pumpkin or a ghost to ward off those Hallowed spirits- (perhaps a pumpkin slathered with vaseline) to spook those thieves in the night! When they try to steal, it - they will be in for a surprise. pve
that is so fun! I try to do more foliage and nature based decorations so I can let them ride on into November- but I do love a good bat or two here and there!
I don't get into it all that much...we have two dogs that bark when the doorbell rings. But my DH LOVES Halloween-he carves great pumpkins and love talking with the children. Hey there...I love your front door and would recognize those green tights anywhere!!!
The scary witches are out en masse this year. Went into a store the other day and was just glad my 3 year old wasn't with me..(I actually posted some of the pics last week of the horror show)....
Love your witch pic though...very "Wizard of Oz-ish.
