All the years I lived in Manhattan, I never even noticed "my gate" at the entrance of Central Park South. "Artist's Gate" sculpted in stone caught my attention. It is true that as a tourist, one does see more of the city. Did you know that there are twenty-two gates with various professions that have been carved at various entrances?
What gate would call your attention and what would it say about you?

No, I didn't know that!
Lovely! You must enter through that gate from now on!
Pamela,
I shall enter through that gate as long as you come with me so we can find your gate!
Edward too.

I think I would choose the same as you. I just told my husband that we need to plan a long weekend in NYC... it's been too long.
I didn't know this either! Hmmm.... My gate would say "Welcome my friend". It pretty much say it all.
Have a golden weekend! xoxo
P.S. My box arrived!!
I didn't know that! I love it though. Oh- and tried to comment on the Central Park window view, but my Microsoft computer does not like Blogger. :( (no issues on the Mac). Headed to NYC next week and am so excited to be in the city again- even as a tourist.
Debra,
No place finer than the city in the Fall or during the Holidaze! Love to meet ya and the Mr.

Look at that! How cool. I wonder if there is a writer's gate? I bet there is:)
I've often seen the Artist's Gate as my in-laws live across the street on Fifth but didn't know there were others until now. I would use either the Scholar's Gate at Grand Army Plaza(life is full of lessons) or the Women's Gate at W. 72nd ('cause girls rock!)
Kwana,
Yes, a Writer's Gate would make a perfect entrance for you my dear!

Mine would say "Sunbathing Gate"...XXOO
Certainly the artist's gate, an inspiration gate, sculptors gate, etc. No I did not have a clue these were at the park!
I am through that gate in a heartbeat!
Love those discoveries in my big city!
Thanks for finding it, I had not seen it wth open eyes before!
What a fabulous detail to notice Patricia. I wonder how many New Yorkers missed that. You need to do a pic in front of your gate. I don't suppose thereis one that says gift wrapper? LOL! Have a great weekend.
I think I too would gravitate toward the Artists Gate. I would love to see the Children's Gate.
Isn't it fabulous!
It was there all the time for you!
xo xo
never knew that!
I would love to enter through the "mother's gate" and see my children skip through the "children's gate" beside...
Wow! Up until 10 yrs ago I lived in Manhattan my entire life and I never knew there were 20 gates & that all were named. However, I do remember that the gate right across from my apt was named Mariners Gate but I'm only the captain of my soul.
