home plate

From time to time an e-mail comes my way requesting a barter of sorts. My father was born and his Mother bartered and paid the kind Doctor with a fresh chicken. My Dad loves to tell this story and chuckle about that poor chicken making it to "home plate."

So a little barter was agreed upon, a sketch for a platter. This week, my polka-dot bordered platter arrived.
With many holiday celebrations looming, I thought this would be the perfect time to barter a platter for a small home illustration - especially knowing that this sweet gal is holding down her fort at home while her husband is serving in Iraq. Please take a moment to visit Laura at Platters and Splatters. Tell her "pve" sent you!

What wonderful talent you have! I just found your beautiful blog somewhere in blogland..
I think my son is a master at bartering! "I promise I will do anything you need..." He hasn't quite gotten the concept that you must repay the promise...

Your paintings are divine!!!Couldn't find a favorite though I love them all!
Cheers,
Stacey

Stacey-
Thanks for stopping by to visit- A promise is a hard lesson to learn but perhaps with a little barter or a bribe, that will change the situation!

Thanks! It was fun to paint, especially with all the inspiration surrounding me, with all the Autumn foliage!

Oh, I love a good barter. But no one seems to need engineering services - at least no one with any good decor to trade!

: )

Enjoy your platter!!
