This illustration was a recent commission for a client and neighbor who will be moving the
business to a new "home" office. They will be sending out a "moving card" - and the original artworks will be framed and hung on the walls.
The building has been renovated and is up to code with a handicap ramp and parking for employees. I love the fact that a business can have the look and feel of a place to go to work, yet have the look of a home. Is your office in a building or a home?
Gorgeous illustration! I've always work in a office building never a home environment. But I love when my hubby is home working in our home office..he says he works better from home, but I think he likes me making him lunch! Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHome is what you make it and having my lunch made, well I would love that too!
ReplyDeleteI do my best work in pajamas! Home office for me!

I like working from home the best! And I'm trying to keep up my end of the challenge. This is a beautiful building Patricia~I see little lights in all of the windows all year long. I love the hominess of that look.
ReplyDeleteI've done both, but 9 years ago we built a house with a large studio, it's own entrance, a fireplace, and no dress code! It is the best in the winter when I don't have to leave the house. I am more productive with a home office since I start at 6 am. in my pajamas.
ReplyDeleteJust the other day, we were talking about the best things in life and one was working on your own, from your own home or where ever and the best is being one's own boss!!!

This is so lovely!!! When I worked in SF it was in a beautiful office on Maiden Lane, but when I took a decorating job on the east coast our office was in fact my boss' guest house! I have to say the guest house was quite something...we took dips in her pool on our lunch break! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful illustrations! I am currently working from home, but I prefer having an office (my condo is too small and there is no separation between work and home life). Once I have more paying clients I plan to share some office space, and I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFor the moment my office is in a building, but within a few weeks we are moving in our private house and my office will be there.
And I have to say that I have been thinking about such a drawing for businesscards and even bringing in this on our website.
I love it!

I only wish I could work from home! What a beautiful illustration. I am sure that the business will do well from a place like that!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work PVE! My real office is inside a big brick building smack dab in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. At home my office is on the couch. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday to you.
one of the perks of having an interiors store is that it does feel like home. Beautiful illustration!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful place to work. I love how your beautiful illustration will be there to greet all that walk through the doors.
ReplyDeleteI work out at a home office about 20 minutes away one day a week and from my home. Gary also works from home most days, this gives us a lot of quality time together and special moments i.e. lunch dates or walks in the park.
Have a golden weekend my friend! xoxo
We have both a home office and office in a home. Both make work feel...well, less like work! Love the illustrations!
ReplyDeleteMy office is my couch surrounded by beads! I have to watch television while I work, so that is where it all happens.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

My dream is to work at home i a large studio. your illustration is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat lucky clients, they get a beautiful piece of art.
ReplyDeleteI am working out of home, no complains, just would love to have a little studio of my own one day.
Have a great weekend with your special guest!
Love - Victoria
What a beautiful illustration.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Illustration.. I absolutely love to see businesses that operate out of homes..
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea... and something I'll have to keep in my mind during my many moves. One aspect of my life is that my husband gets transferred to a new country every few years and so my "home office" changes constantly by country!
ReplyDeleteOn that note, indeed I base myself out of my home, which at current, is an apartment in Berlin Mitte. While I normally meet clients out & about, I do lead workshops & meet decorating clients chez moi and really feel that it is important my home reflect my business - fortunately the Diva Lifestyle translates well into our day to day life and I can easily meet clients in any room of our house... though I must confess, my home office is my favorite room!
I love homes that look like this illustration; it's so welcoming. And to think it will become a place of business is great. Instead of concrete, they decided to use charm.
