Wishing each of you a light breeze, warm waters and wings to spread and to soar. Take flight, enjoy this day. My photo reminded me of one of my favorite books below.
Lordy, I hated that book. 4th grade I believe. And, no calm breezes here today. Bill's wreaking havoc here and we hardly even have a beach to speak of and we can hear the thunder of the waves inside the house with all the doors closed. XXOO
Great photo Patricia. The water makes me want to run into the small wave and get my feet wet. I like how you managed the "bird" eye view. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! xoxo
"Blue Highways" by William Least Heat Moon reminds me of summer. I started back to college at age 24 in the 1980's, and I pulled straight A's all year with more than a full load of units and with 3 part time jobs. I had NO TIME to read for pleasure during that school year, so when summer came it was all I wanted to do. Mom, Grandad and I took a week-long road trip to visit other family members later in June, and I read Blue Highways on that journey. It felt like such an indulgence!
We usually try to take a trip somewhere "beachy" in the winter, so usually whatever book I read on that trip will bring memories of the beach and warm summer weather flooding back to me.
This summer, I've only read two books...shame on me! But one was long (Animal, Vegetable, Miracle) so I'm cutting myself some slack. :-)

For me, hands down summer favorite is Anne Morrow Lindberg's Gift from the Sea.
That is one of my all time favorite books - love it; so very deep.
Summer: the sound of crickets makes me smile.
What a lovely wish. I hope that you have a wondereful weekend.
That is a wonderful photo! I didn't see the seagull at first - a nice surprise.

PVE,
My fav book is Anne Morrow Lindberg's Gift from the Sea also. I love summer and always will and I enjoy autumn a lot as well.
Love the snap, and seagull, great thoughts of staying above water always come to mind at the beach, and tossing your cares into the ocean.
