Even if this summer is all about staying local (for me) and not jet-setting off somewhere fab, a girl can dream with these unique "upcycled" designs.
"Get,Ready,Set,GO" at Etsy.
Vintage tourister bags given a hip silhouette, all ready to go (or stay) somewhere fun.
Who knew that these bags could be going places, the 2nd time around?
Now - all I need to go with are a pair of converse sneaks!
Get ready, set to go and "squeeze" the last bits of August out of 2009.
bon voyage!
I had the blue Tourister cosmetic case-wish I had it now for holding treasures. We too stayed pretty local this summer with just weekends away. Another coming up this weekend and that's it for a while. It passes quickly doesn't it. Now go pack your bags and take a virtual holiday-tee-hee!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteI am quite happy to stay local. We have had a good run with our garden, and great swims at the pool club nearby...and many activities to provide for a fun summer. We did after all have a wonderful European trip the summer of 2008 then followed by a very sick son...so this summer, just to be happy, healthy and at home makes me smile....inside and out!

Fabulous designs, I love that green! Makes me want to travel a bit.
ReplyDeleteI think I would want to keep that gorgeous luggage local. Suitcase get too trashed traveling. This last return home I added duct tape to my suitcase not so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the cosmetic case! I am going to hop on over to Etsy to check it out further. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThese are so neat! I love vintage luggage that has possibly been to more interesting locales than I have! Thank you so much for looking at my little blog and even commenting! You're so correct, too!! We stayed "local" this summer also, even though our Charleston trip was amazing and definitely blog-worthy, it's only 3 hours away!
ReplyDeleteI am hearing of more and more people staying local for the holidays, as I have. My suitcases have already been all over the world... I would love to have one of these vintage pieces!
ReplyDeletegreat minds think alike! I had those dogeared in my favorites on etsy- great way to recycle/renew those items everyone seems to have.
ReplyDeleteHey these would be much easier to find at baggage pick up at the airport! Like these!
ReplyDeleteI like the vintage cases, and the added flair. Lately we have stayed around here or Wisconsin because there is so much to see around us this time of year, I already feel like I'm on vacation. Enjoy my friend! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove these cases, I hardly see people travelling like that anymore...
ReplyDeleteWe've had a stay-at-home summer last year and loved it. The Hudson region is so full of wonderful places to discover, day trips to take and lovely places along the water to relax! I hear you.
And you know, being this year some time longer in one place (Massachusetts), it felt a bit like we moved to a new place and found out all about the new neighborhood.
Not familiar, but not foreign either. Just right!
so glad to hear that you are smiling inside and out with everyone happy and healthy ~ better than any vacation any day!
ReplyDeletethe round case reminds me of the case that kept my hair dryer in it ... the kind with the hose and cap ... now that made me smile! i can feel the warmth on my head ... thanks for bringing back memories ...

I remember when travelling was abit glam, and we would dress up for the flight. My Mother had the blue Samsonite luggage - what a great memory! Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteWow these are great! I had luggage like that when I was growing up. It has so much more personality then the infamous BLACK rolly bag that EVERYONE carries!
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely, but that top one is absolute perfection!
ReplyDeleteThese are so sweet. Make me want to hop in the car and take the top down, well, if I could.
ReplyDeleteFab design! i really want to own one such bag !
ReplyDeleteI love the vintage luggage- so European!
ReplyDeleteOh, I've been such a local yokel the past couple of years. . . but I do have quite a stash of luggage from the 50's and 60's. They add interest stacked on top of an armoire in the guest room, and a few of the travel cases hold my old 45rpm records and other treasures. Even though I'm a homebody, I can't pass up a vintage piece of luggage.
ReplyDeleteI believe I just found lil' crumbs first piece of luggage! Divine!
ReplyDeleteLove! And yes: get those converse sneakers! I have a PLAID pair, and I love them.
ReplyDeletelove those red suitcases!
ReplyDeleteand i got a pari of leopard converse yesterday!!
