just now

Flickr - photo by annapar
There is no other time like just now.

Quote by Mark Twain
If you are at a standstill, stuck just now, then this is the time to explore, to dream and to discover what you want. What steps are necessary in order to achieve your dreams? Is there a class or can you teach yourself? Learning should never cease, and making time to feel the energy and passion come alive can be one part scary and one part exhilarating.

Take time to listen, just now and to not be afraid to that little voice of fear. Control your destiny - just now, this once. Are you ready, just now and for what?

This is just the quote I needed today...I was 'on the fence' about signing up for a writing class, and you pushed me to go for it with this magnificent quote!

Cease the day and all it has to offer!

I need to print this out and tape it to the mirror. Very inspirational, and very motivating.

I love that you love green, and that we could be long lost sisters!

Marnie-
It is scary, like I say, it is fear or control....those are the 2 things in life that will hold us from jumping.
good luck the taking the leap...to someone you know who is mid-way.

Laura,
Often stepping back or just observing is part of being just in the now.

Just what I needed to read today. To live in the moment, pursue one's dreams, to be a life long learner: these are all great ingredients for living a meaningful life.

Wish I could remember the exact words, but in a class in graduate school I came across the idea that it is exactly in those free fall moments we come to know our truest selves.

About life-long learning, the homemade joke in our family, "Were you born an autodidact?" "No, but I am teaching myself how to be one."

Enjoy your journey. Every nannosecond of it!

Great quote! We've lost so many loved ones lately that I've found myself always trying to do new things (sewing is the new thing du jour! And blogging was one of my first "something new" projects) and I really want to get back to travelling...even though it's a bit cost prohibitive these days, I don’t want to find myself saying, “I wish I had gone there…” So I’m going to save my pennies and make it happen!

I love this message, I just love it! After a lifetime of wanting to be an artist, I finally signed up for Design 1 - The Principles of Design in my early 40's in Fall 2001. I can't remember anymore why I was hesitant, but it was a big decision at the time. Well, a couple of weeks after class started, as I was getting ready for class one morning, the jets crashed into the Twin Towers in New York. I joined the rest of our nation in shock and grief. Not knowing what would happen to our country, I almost dropped my class to focus on. . . what, I don't know. But after a few days I decided to keep living my life, and if God closed the door on art or anything else, that's when I would change course. Well, He didn't close the door, I'm still taking art classes, and that has led to richness, friendships, connections, and purposes I would not have found otherwise. So yes, if you feel led to something, do it now! If it's not meant to be, the doors will close. If it is, you'll blossom. If you don't take the step, you'll never know.

Love your thoughts on this. That darn voice of fear sneaks in a messes things up all too often. I'm constantly trying to squelch it.
