Wikepedia, Great wall of China
Ever think about the Great Wall of China, what if they just gave up, called it a day, and said, ok, "Good enough" - What distinguishes the great from the good? How do you keep on going, working, persevering towards something more than just "good" enough, but just great!
The Great Wall of China
Do you live with a good enough or just great outlook! I am going to give this "just great" outlook a try this weekend....headed up to the Catskills, (not China.)
Beautiful photos! Hmmm, what does keep me going? I know it sounds cheesy, but my mom, for one, is a HUGE inspiration for me. She's been by my side every step of the way...
ReplyDeleteLovely thoughts!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy.
wow ... the first image is unspeakably serene ... wonderful in the true sense ... thank you!
ReplyDeletei try to embrace each day as a great gift, and am grateful for great things that are achieved, but i am also pretty content with lots of the simple, good things in life.
wishing you and yours many great moments this weekend ~

If I was in charge of the Great Wall, it definitely would have ended mid-wall, lol! I like to consider myself a butterfly...floating from flower to beautiful flower, always moving on (that's a nice way of saying "loses focus easily" ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend! Hope we get *some* nice weather...
I'm going for "just great"! and hope to be living the example for my children to follow.
ReplyDeletehave a GreaT weekend,
LuLu
Certainly a question worth asking! I have to admit that when I hiked on the Great Wall I was a bit intimidated by the sheer accomplishment of it all. But then I was informed that the project had taken several hundred years to complete and I felt a bit better about it all. So perhaps the lesson is that patience is a virtue, and all things come eventually?
ReplyDeleteAwesome post. Have fun in the catskills!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely "just great." You never cease to inspire. Happy weekend.

ReplyDeleteSome things I will continue to the end, and others;like organizing, I need an assistant!!
ReplyDeleteI'm learning that my ability to go from good to great lies in knowing when I am or am not supposed to be involved in something. I used to wear myself out trying to do everything I thought I should be doing, sometimes out of guilt or perfectionism, and often ended up with empty results or wasted time. I'm learning that no matter how serious the situation or how tempting the opportunity, God lets me know if it's my turn or not. He opens and closes doors accordingly, and if I flow with that, my energies are well directed. Even when it's something difficult or heartbreaking, if I'm meant to be present and to act, He gives me strength and peace as needed to press on or help someone else. And when it's a wonderful, fun opportunity that seems a bit of a stretch for me, He gives me extra creativity and confidence to go for it. Going from good to great has been growing and learning who I was created to be, who I am in the Lord. It's not a stagnant place, I guarantee!
ReplyDeleteI'm so grateful for the gift of optimism. Things can only get better and better! Don't you think?
