pve design artwork ~ shagreen clutch for j.mclaughlin
Nothing like having a little shagreen accessory to clasp onto. Shagreen has such a pretty look, and I have always admired it from afar. Why don't ya "shagreen" and bear it? Do you have a shagreen snuff box or clutch?

The title of this post caught my eye - my most recent post features the most magnificent collection of shagreen!
What a vibrant painting.
I love the feel of shagreen. I have a tiny box that was my Grandmother's-a treasure. I shall shagreen and bear this humid weather today.....
Unfortunately, no shagreen for me.
Things that inspire,
of course I hopped over to see your exquisite post featuring some the most magnificent collection of shagreen, there is something about the color that I find so soothing. Things that inspire me are comments from stylista's like you!
Thanks!

*sigh* Oh how I love shagreen.
One day...
I don't, but now I need some in my life. LOL.
I've got a shagreen picture frame. It adds just the right touch! I adore the texture and can't keep my hands off of it.
Yes, I had just read the Things that Inspire post. I only wish I had something wonderful out of shagreen, a purse, a box!
No shagreen in this corner, but I do love the illustration. xoxo
I like the sea creature aspect of your illustration. cute stingray. Thanks for sharing.
I don't have anything that's shagreen, but it is pretty and you have done a lovely illustration of it!
I love your work for J. McLaughlin. I am going to have to go to their website and check out the shagreen.
Well, I've learned something new today. Before this post I'd never seen nor heard the word shagreen. But now that I'm in the know, I can appreciate your sea-themed illustration alluding to the shark skin. When I first saw the word, the first thing I thought of was "chagrin" which brings up another connection: La Peau de Chagrin. Peau = Skin in French, which again alludes to the shark skin. So I wasn't too far off in my ignorance! Even without the understanding, my eyes are still drawn to your artwork:)
The color is delicious but the pun was splendid.

Such a pretty illustration! I don't have any shagreen but what I've always found so interesting is that the name derives from the french word chagrin meaning "sorrow" . The books and bags covered with it are usually so beautiful.
way back when, i worked for an interior design firm that sold an amazing collection of accessories. the shagreen boxes and frames were definitely one of the best sellers. however, none in my corner. should have bought one of the boxes back then.
My favorite clothing brand of all time!
I feel a tad curious having no idea what "shagreen" is, sounds interesting, off I go to yahoo.
You know I love your J. McL work...XXOO
Oh, I just love the ad and such a clever title!
