Eva Zeisel with her designs
How proud one must feel to have designed something that stands the test of time, in a sleek and saucy way. Eva said, "I do curves, because I am bit curvy."
I stand in awe of Eva Zeisel and her modern designs in porcelain. The above photograph, I snapped while at the Moma in New York. Is it not the best soup bowl? I love it. The designs are part of the classic Century collection found at Crate and Barrel.
No I do not own any although, like you, I am a fan. Her designs are so graceful.
ReplyDeletePamela,
ReplyDeletegraceful, but in a mod way!

I don't but i want to! You're right, her design have stood time. Isn't that the dream of any designer?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog today. It's been awhile since i was here. Nice to revisit!
"I do curves, because I am bit curvy."
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I love her.
I don't have any of her designs but definitely designs inspired by her. So fabulous!
Her work is so elegant!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of her before! But it's beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't but they are beautiful, and she does seem ahead of her times. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteI love the warm, yet clean curves.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of her but I AM A FAN NOW!
ReplyDeleteLove the organic shape and the simplicity.
Love the shakers-Mama Bear, Papa Bear and Baby Bear- shake-shake-shake. I do not own any, but I think my Mother had a bowl -wonder where it is???
ReplyDeletewow, very cool!
ReplyDeletebig fan of her pieces and now a fan of her...."i do curves"....perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love her too -the lines are so sinuous - very ahead of her time. I'm sure most people who go to crate & barrel have no idea the items were designed years ago!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I started reading your post I was thinking hey that is the gal that C & B carries her pieces. I love her work!
ReplyDeleteDoes "use to" have a piece count?
Her and work seem to be a bit ahead of time. Very classic in her curves and style. Do you know if she is still active?
I'm now a huge fan. I love the bowl. I remember seeing the shakers at the museum. The quote is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHi Patricia,
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact, yes, I do...well my husband does...I got him her greacfull little cram coloured tea pot for his green tea for Christmas. I loved the shape and flow of the design...and! it was not expensive...maybe 30 bucks :)
Hi Patricia,
ReplyDeleteThe abouth is correct ;)

So, so ahead of her time!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any of her designs but now I wish I had that bowl. It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteKleinReid (from NYC) collaborated with her a few years ago - they have done some amazing things together. I used to sell KleinReid in the shop, but most people didn't "get it" and they sat on the shelf far too long. They are all gone now (after slashing prices), and I'm sad I don't get to look at them all day long anymore! Love the curves!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this! I have always loved her table and must run out to Crate & Barrel and see these!

I'm so impressed! I love her "I do curves because I'm a bit curvy!" Gotta love a woman who embraces the more voluptuous figure :)

It's gorgeous! Love those shakers. They seem like they are alive.
ReplyDeleteThese are so, so beautiful. Definitely lust worthy.
