play house

pve design illustration    ~    becoming home photograph
Today is a special day, I feel as though I am a kid playing house!  My blog will soon have a new look and we have a winner of the "best face forward" from last fab friday!  Number 36 was the number selected by the random number selector and the winner is "Pam" - so Pam, I hope you will e-mail me with the photo of your favorite face!  I shall work from your photo and send the artwork to you!  (Love to draw your favorite face "Pixel" - your Brittany Spaniel!)

Do you ever like to play house?  What makes your day and your home more playful?  A tot, a pup or something else?  (I added this fence to "becoming home's" home to make it more playful) One of the joys of being an artist is the art of play!

  1. In the master bedroom, we have a wall of windows. Outside is a lovely tree w/big branches. Hubby and I often imagine that we have a tree house (something simple) and it leads to our bedroom, so we can walk around easily. If it is lightly raining, we would still be able to sit out there because the leaves above us would cover us. We really enjoy talking about how much fun it would be to look at the moon from our treehouse.

  5. Happy Monday Patricia! I like the fence you added to the drawing. Inviting and a great selling feature.
I like to pretend, to be living off in the woods somewhere with a nice cold stream in the back, living off the land and driving my little vintage red truck into town to visit at the local diner and sell jam and herbs. My love brings me back to remind me with my thumb we would be verrry hungry! Enjoy your day! xoxo

  7. How ironic...I posted one of my favorite quotes today...if you let your imagination go, does it ever come back? Like I said in my post....I hope not! Have a great day and again, lovely illustration!

  12. I am such a huge fan of your illustrations. As a student, I have such respect for a natural hand {especially since it takes me forever to get a effortless looking rendering}. Would absolutely be honored to do a giveaway and include an interview with it it to learn more about your techniques.

    xx,

  22. I love the painting...and fabulous fence!

If I could I'd play house all day, every day...setting tables, crafty projects, baking pies, having dinner on the table, sewing projects...I think we always want what we can not have. :-) Need to start playing the lottery...
