Meet Lecia and her lovely boys, husband Alexi, and boys Abbot and Cal. If Lecia were here, I would take her to our local bakery with the motto, "Life is uncertain, eat dessert first"- because I think she lives
each day as if it were a day that is dessert.
Her days are spent creating and exploring her surroundings with her family which she shares with us on her blog, that she began in June 2008.
Daily musings and lovely photographs, be it a stack of freshly folded laundry or an empty heart shaped bowl, these images remind one to seek happiness and contentment in the simple joys of life.
This is a quick glimpse, an illustration that I drew for Lecia and her family
as they live a simply colorful life each day.
Here is the black and white line drawing for you to print out and color in. (Click on image and print out) My hope is that Lecia and her sons (color) & continue to inspire us through their adventures as they savor the tiny moments, one bite at a time. Thanks for making my day simply sweeter. Lecia reminds me that even on the toughest days to look for joy. Now that is what I call living a day that is dessert a well deserved day. What makes your day sweeter?

A beautiful family portrait. Those boys are a joy to watch. Along with PVE, I start my mornings with Dessert. It's a Perfect Beginning to any day.

Well done. I wouldn't know where to start illustrating or describing Lecia and her handsome family...
The essence is there, the delight as well.
A daily read and source of inspiration for me.
Lovely portrait. My day is sweeter with the love I feel in our family. Today our youngest crawled into our bed and smothered us with hugs. Sweetest way to start a day!
Thank you so much Patricia, for the beautiful illustration and your kind words! The boys can't wait to color the picture. You are always an inspiration to me as well. xoxo
Lecia,
Just like some sort of delightful dessert, I just knew that sooner or later, you would have to be shared. My Mom always says, there's always enough for all! That is the vibe I get from you, more than enough to share.
Looking forward to seeing the boys pictures too.

So lovely - what a great picture too!
Lovely picture! I love her blog and you are so right even on the toughest days she finds the simple joys. I love her pictures and a reminder how important family is. I've hard hard days living in Germany away from family and friends and her blogs and many others do help me look for the simple joys in everyday. pve you do an incredible job, amazing artist.
Such a beautiful family! And as for sweets...an office bake-off made my day! One of the more unusual contributions was a batch of bacon-chocolate-chip cookies (which someone aptly described as "Homer Simpson Cookies").
How sweet! She looks like she's just brimming with pride--such a beautiful family!
Eat dessert first? Count me IN!
Hi P
I can always complain in my head--when I catch myself I try to list a couple of good things to balance my negative list==why do we naturally think that way??
As always, I love your art works! I do sometimes eat dessert first!
Now that is a quote to take to heart! A chocolate brioche and coffee is a great start.
Lovely!! And I'm all for eat dessert first...so much so, that I was driving home from you I skipped right past that amazing bakery for fear my rear would grow seven sizes from walking in the door alone. :-) I'm ALWAYS eating dessert first!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
adorable!!! what a cute idea!
