the holidays rock

"Rock Center" - located in New York City is the best spot to visit, to skate, to see the tree and to feel the magic of the holidays.  Do you have a spot where you live that rocks during the holidays?

Oh, I do need to do some things just because I love them, this was done last year for a client for a redeemable gif certificate, a last minute under the wire gift!

  5. I remember this view many years ago when I was in NY during the season. You capture the feeling more then I have seen a photo taken!

We try to take the train to the city (Chicago) most years to view the store windows. But my favorite of favorite places is sitting with Gary near the fire and tree having him play his guitar.

  7. how pretty, it would make a great holiday card! I've never visited YET, but the national sculpture garden on the national mall has ice skating here in DC with live bands. I've always wanted to go!

  12. I LOVE that watercolor! It's actually better than the real thing. You should definitely put a line of cards together and then next year I can order them from you!

  13. Strolling Monument Avenue and looking at all the wonderful holiday confections of lights, greenery and blown glass.

That said, my favourite tree of thousands (5,000 + they once told me) of cascading orange lights won't light up my walk this year. The owners have put the house up for sale. Standing under the canopy of light, completely enveloped in the orange glow was magical. I'll miss that.

  22. Very pretty and whimsical! Last Christmas I photographed my girls watching Santa skate on the Rock Center rink. Then we went to that adorable little French shop on one side and bought children's books en francais before heading to Dean and Deluca where a giant Elmo was eating a sandwich without his (Elmo) head. A New York moment indeed . . .
