elephantine crush

Very often as an artist, certain "things" or elements catch my eye.
Lately, I seem to be on "safari" of sorts and loving elephants.  I spotted the one above on e-bay from Hermes.  Would that not be sweet dangling from a cord, worn as a choker during the holidays.
This sweet golden elephant is from here, it said sold out, but surely there must be more elephants somewhere like this one.  He has an "Indie" vibe with his trunk up and the tiny motif forming a pattern.  The tot chair below, I had hand painted several years ago for a child coming from India and I remember thinking that an elephant would be a nice welcome.

Children love elephants, and as a child, I loved this little golden book along with Babar.  I adore the drawings as well as the fact that Babar wore a "green" suit.  Babar would take me away in the stories as well as the drawings, on one of his many "voyages."
How sweet is this holiday card with Mommy and baby elephant bringing home a fresh cut tree.
Are you currently craving elephants or any other creature?

  1. I am in love with pandas...always will be! I had a cousin ask me at Thanksgiving where my large childhood collection was...I told her I just kept a few but I was touched she remembered...my daughter is a hippo lover, funny how you can feel so for one animal! And wearing an elephant who has a trunk up is good luck! Good choice for you!

  4. These are so cute. What a sweet crush to have. I'm kicking myself over these cute little pig salt and pepper shakers that I didn't get in Savannah. Not that I go for pigs but these 2 were cuties.

  8. I was so happy to see your post this morning. I love elephants as well. I'm always trying to bring new ones into my home. I normally try to find little ones in my travels so that I have a remembrance of a special vacation. I got my first elephant as an engagement gift, because they bring you luck and I've been hooked ever since.

You know my newest little collection butI don't think they classify as animals (smile).

I hope your little treasures bring you continuous good luck!

  11. I am fascinated by just about any animal, and particlary so by elephants. I have a marvelous Babar ornament on my Christmas tree. He's in his little car!

I seem to be in a Polar Bear place right now, however. Perhaps because they are having so much trouble at present. Magnificent creatures.
