carpe diem

Smoothie from Martha Stewart

What the mind can create, the mind can achieve. - Clement Stone

In order for the mind to create and to achieve a productive day, begin with a breakfast creation such as the above picture, a smoothie, which consists of banana or strawberry, yogurt, honey and add some flax seeds for added goodness.  Breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day.  How do you "carpe diem" your day?  What do you create for breakfast?

I'm not big on the dairy in the am but that sounds yummy. I did tea and an English muffin this morning. Strange not to have my normal coffee.

Same as always - when I get to work I have a yogurt ( generally chocolate ) with a peanut butter granola bar and a few cups of tea...the tea stretches till lunch time actually -cup after cup!

Does sidewalk cart coffee count?

I definitely don't create anything but the will to put myself on the subway to get to work on time :)

Oh this morning I haven't had anything yet, not even a cup of hot coffee. Coffee, protein shake, oatmeal with dried fruit, fruit are somem of my staples (not all at once) in the morning. Speaking of mornings I need to get my cup of coffee in to start rolling out cookies...
Have a golden day!

I dip a banana into Kettle Almond Butter. And regarding the flax seeds, be sure they are ground up before adding to smoothie...I use my coffee bean grinder for this.

I usually have fruit smoothies on Monday morning (to try and start fixing the weekend's damage), but today I had fresh-ground coffee, then scrambled eggs, oj and a piece of toast.
The comments made me hungry for yogurt.

Love that picture! We eat something different for breakfast almost every day, as my youngest hates to have the same breakfast twice in a row. I love the blog Simply Breakfast for ideas.

You're so healthy! I actually eat the same thing almost every morning. 1 slice of multigrain toast with a glass of milk first thing, and then a second breakfast of steel cut oats a couple hours later. Oh, and lots of tea.

This smoothie looks delicious and must surely be a great tonic first thing- I am having a porridge (oatmeal) moment as I am told it reduces cholesterol... I don't know if it is true or even if it is working but any excuse for a bit of maple syrup on top!

I make sure I have breakfast with my kids. Today was peanut butter on a wheat english muffin. A personal fave.

I just bought armfuls of fruits and vegetables so I can make fresh juice--I like an apple/carrot/celery combination. This with a simple bowl of organic flakes is my routine (though I dive into yoghurt/fruit/granola bowls when in California!

Yogurt or smoothies I love , then in the winter any of the fruit & oatmeal packets with a little honey. Coffee with vanilla soy milk of course!

You are all so heathly. I feel guilty saying it, but on Mondays we have bagels at work. I get an egg bagel with cream cheese and then the rest of the days I'm a bit better with Fiber One bars. After reading about all the goodies you ladies eat I need to get more creative.

That is so very healthy looking! I need to get more motivated in the morning (so NOT a morning person!) so I can whip up a yummy treat like that.

I'm a decaf coffee and whole wheat bagel (naked/straight up) kinda gal. Though on weekends, it's all about the pancake. :-)

I need some real food. I always have my cup of coffee but add either an egg and low fat cheese or some peanut butter on a healthy bread.

Breakfast appetizer for parents and offspring usually begin with mommy's fresh smoothie of mango, banana or berry shake sprinkled with rice protein powder and vitamins. Creamy not from milk, but hemp milk and coconut juice. Mmm Mmm good.

After that we have "porridge" or gluten free waffles with local honey on top.
