welcome red

Painting 16 x 12 for sale $250

Welcome red - painted by my sister.  She sent this scan to me and I just had to share this.  So many things that I love about this work, the shadow cast meeting that potted fern and the sliver of the shutter leading my eye up to those hanging lanterns.  This makes me think of the South and grand entryways and steamy hot summer afternoons and ice tea with lots of sugar and fresh mint.  It is for sale should you be interested.  Hurry, I may buy it first.

That is a welcome red. You are pulled right to that door with so much anticipation. I just want to know what's on the other side.

I love that your sister paints too. There must be a strong artist gene running in your family!

Lovely!

So it runs in the family! Lovely painting! I want to knock on that beautiful door and see what's inside!

I also love the new red accent on your site! Very fresh and pretty!

pamela,
it is an addiction of mine to change every post with a fresh burst of color. It takes a little time but it feels like a newly painted room.
you would love my sisters home and her paintings.

Lovely painting. How nice that you and your sister have a common interest!

Now that all of my children are in school all day (it took 10 years to get to this point), I finally have more than two hours to myself a day and I am seriously thinking about taking up painting again. I have dabbled in art classes here and there through the years, but my coach changed back into a pumpkin at 11:30 every morning and it was never quite enough time to do much more than unpack all of my gear, get my paints out, do a bit of work, then clean up all of my brushes. How I wish I had a studio that I could devote to painting, but the new puppy has taken the only free corner of the kitchen. Perhaps I am making too many excuses; I need to just get out there and do it.

how tranquil.

This much talent in one family? I am not sure that is actually legal.

Well I see talent runs in the family - seems like you have a corner on the market. Very lovely painting.

Very enticing! Your sister is talented too...!

I've decided that our front door is going to be a rich coral color. Totally not local-typical. What do you think?
