room service

Oh, I absolutely adore room service and being known by name.  Room service conjures up the life of Eloise as she proceeds to order something as simple as "one roast-beef bone, one raisin and seven spoons"-  and instead she gets oatmeal.  A girl after my own heart, eating, dressing, traveling, behaving and staying six forever.  I love when she says, "Charge it to my room and make it snappy!"
I drew a room with, two matching chairs, from Oly Studio, a chest, modern art, a statue, lighting and icing on the cake, the crown moulding.   Freshly painted a tinted white, some cut flowers and a view which I leave up to your imagination, could be anywhere as long as it has a vista.  A view or really magnificent books to provide an easy escape and room service.

Don't hate me for dreaming, my life as an artist serves me well, dreams and drawings coming right up!  Please excuse me, room service just arrived.

  2. What a BEAUTIFUL drawing!! Probably my favorite I've seen of yours! I admit, I love room service as well -which always feels like a waste when in a foreign place -you should be out seeing things! But nothing beats the comfort of breakfast ( or lunch or dinner ) in your own comfy room!

  6. Wonderful Illustration! I love room servie as well. My favorite was at the Bankok Oreintal. The food was so excellent I ate in most nights and the service was exceptional - all white table cloths and silver. What a treat!

  7. This illustration is a fav thus far. The Oly chairs are to die for, love these and have for quite some time. So classic, light and airy. The nailheads give it the perfect touch against the light upholstery.

What a delightful picture. Where do you put these wonderful illustrations?

  8. Love it! I think the chairs look more comfortable in your drawing than in the photograph though. I would definitely stain those beauties in reality. :)

  9. Love this! After watching Eloise, my daughter started "calling" in for room service on an old 1950's phone. She and are going for tea at The Plaza May 2nd - we're really looking forward to it.

  11. seleta,
some drawings i frame, some i keep in a portfolio to look at and say, did i do that? i am always so hyper critical that i always find ways to improve, was thinking of making the walls a cafe au lait color to warm it up.
most drawings i do are custom and sell them -
so you can have you very own drawing if you like.
