I recently went back to practicing yoga and I was amazed at how our mind is our master. Certain poses really require one to let go, to live in that moment and if any fear takes over, the pose is suddenly off balance. The illustration above was done for a lovely woman (below) who is the master mind of
Bhati Beads, inspired by her yoga as well as some beads, prayer boxes and love for jewels.
As artists, we need to feed our soul in order to master our mind. May each of you be inspired
to create or perhaps master a pose.
peaceful - a wonderful way to start the day
ReplyDeletemarnie,
ReplyDeletepeaceful yes, however I still need the wall to support my headstand. I do love the way it brings a calm to me.

Oh, I love yoga. How it makes me feel mentally, physically and then time will go by and I haven't done it and I'm not feeling quite right. Beautiful drawing and nice reminder to do my yoga today!
ReplyDeleteHey yoga momma. I've tried to send you emails in the last two days, but they come back. I'm ready to see pics of your masterful garage. Love that you're a semi-colon too. Not surprised, you artistic goddess!
ReplyDeleteI've got to get back to Yoga. You're right it's good for centering the mind. Beautiul sketch.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I still need the wall for my headstands, but it feels great. I try to end each night with yoga and my little boy is learning as well.
ReplyDeleteI find Yoga to be so important for my mind. It brings me inner peace. There isn't enough inner peace in this world. I'm not headstanding, but maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteI used to do yoga ALL the time. Now I mix up yoga and pilates. I haven't exercised in a while, been putting it off. However, you just inspired me to pop in my dvd and get in the warrior position! Thanks:)
ReplyDeleteFor some reason yoga intimidates me? I could do pilates every day...but yoga freaks me out...makes no sense.
ReplyDeletegetting back into yoga as well after a much too long infant/toddler hiatus. i'm finding it entirely peaceful and necessary! have also dedicated my practice on some days to someone else -- keep the karma going around. its a nice change of pace and kind of humbling.
