Capturing the soul of a cat or dog in an illustration gives me great reward.
Even if I have never met the subject at
hand, I feel as if I know the creature, feel the fur, imagine the bark or purr of the personality.
Pets provide a story of joy to our world.

These are great. I must show Jack! I think Mr. B. should have one done asap.
I just read on Ellen's blog that it's your birthday. Happy Birthday! Your blog has become a regular and lovely part of my day.
May the coming year be joyous and full of kindness.
All the best,
Shauna
Thank you for sharing your work with us. I've recently discovered your blog and really enjoy it. I haven't picked up my drawing tools in a long time, but looking at your work inspires me to do so. Thanks.
beautiful work. Painting animals is harder for me than painting people, harder to paint their personality sometimes.

all it takes is getting started, once you start to draw the rest will follow!
hazel-
practice painting "eyes" of the animals for they are the window to the soul and spirit of the animal.
keep practicing too, simplify the shape too-
hope this helps!
