speak up

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This weekend is a three day weekend as Monday is Martin Luther King Day. Take time to speak up and make your voice heard. Make a list of what matters and tell those around you.
No silent treatment, just express yourself and get it off your mind and off your chest.

I'm all for that- getting things out in the open. It's bad for your health to hold things in. What a sweet wall sticker. Have a wonderful weekend. Hmmm...fondue, I haven't made that in a while. Maybe next weekend.

Love both quotes. I agree its good to express yourself, but I have to remind myself to do it in a way that isn't too negative.

Yes! That is an incredibly wise sentiment from Dr. King (and from you!).

So true, Dr King was an amazing man. The words on the wall are beautiful also.

i never heard that before.

I just saw a picture of MLK and was struck by how young he truly was! what a waste to have died so young.

Very nice post, I will try to make that list. I'm sure I'll be surprised at the outcome.
Hope you are enjoying the long weekend, no such thing in Europe so it's back to work tomorrow!

I have been listening to MLK's speeches all day - what an orater he was! Sadly, his words are eerily as true today as they were in the 1960's. Thanks, as always, for a thoughtful post.

We all seem to have so much time for idle chatter but so much less for those things that can make a difference. Also, a belated thank you for your lovely comments. I would love an illustration of BF - what do I need to do? Leigh
